Four Monroe Library volunteers will receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award during a ceremony at the Sno-Isle Libraries Service Center in Marysville on Saturday, April 22.

The bronze-level awards honor Bonnie Drake, Michael Gantala, Amber Helman and Deborah Kyle.

Drake also volunteers at the Tualco Grange, Fryelands Elementary and the Sky Valley Food Bank.

Gantala is being honored for keeping the library stocked with supporting materials and the shelves clean.

Helman comes to the library every Wednesday, where she focuses on keeping the children’s area and toys clean for kids.

Kyle now has a paid position with Sno-Isle Libraries as part of the circulation team.

The president’s award honors people for their annual achievements and commitment to required volunteer hours.

Honorees receive a commemorative pin, certificate and letter signed by the President of the United States.

“Nearly 700 people give their time and talent toward the mission of Sno-Isle Libraries,” said libraries executive director Jonalyn Woolf-Ivory in a news release. “Each of our volunteers helps the 22 community libraries better serve the customers and their communities.”
