The United Way of Snohomish County has set up free tax preparation sites around the county, with WorkSource providing services in Monroe through April 18.
Services include free, fast filing of federal tax returns for any household with income under $64,000, in-person specialists to connect taxpayers with public benefits and community programs and Spanish interpreters at each site.
The United Way reports 386 returns were prepared at last year’s tax prep site in Monroe, totaling $583,307 in refunds.
WorkSource is at 17150 W. Main St., Suite B. Prep sites are open 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
Bring: picture ID; social security card or tax identification number for everyone on the return; W2s or other income statements from all employers, any 1099 forms; form 1095-A (marketplace health insurance); the name, address and tax ID number for your child care provider; records of student loan payments; record of payments for educational expenses such as college tuition; mortgage interest and property tax statements; a bank account number to receive your refund via direct deposit; last year’s tax return.
