Teddy A. Reule, 83, of Monroe, WA passed away at home peacefully on December 23, 2016.
Ted was born in Medina, ND, on November 28, 1933. His family moved to Monroe, WA in the late 1930’s and as a young man, Ted delivered newspapers and worked at Herb’s Grocery in order to help support his family. He attended Monroe High School where he graduated in 1952, and went on to enlist in the United States Army, serving two years in Korea.
Ted worked many years as a logger and carpenter. He was an early organizer of Sky Valley Speedway in Monroe, serving as its third president, track official, and car operator. He also loved reading, crafts, helping with home projects of others, and mentoring young people. In 2010, Ted was inducted into the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the Monroe High School team that won the Washington State Class B Basketball Championship in 1952. He also played football for Everett Junior College.
Ted is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carol Reule; children Tim (Melissa) Reule, Tom Reule, Jerry Reule, Jay (Mary) Reule; step-children Ken (Jenny) Bosket, Tom (Bonnie) Bosket, and Laurie (Jim) Englund; grandchildren Emily Reule, Johnathan Reule, Chloe Reule, Zachary Reule, Bryce Bosket, Lexie (Alex) Brost, Shelby Bosket, Stephen Englund, Kristina (Tyler) King, Michael Englund, and Andrew Bosket; great-grandchildren Evelyn, Weston, Nehemiah, Carsten, Kayden; brother Dick (Janet) Reule; and many nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his first wife Phylis Reule; mother Dorothy Reule; sister Faye (Jim) Sofie; and brothers Jerry and Vic Reule.
Ted will be remembered for his generosity, his love of family and strong loyalty to friends.
The memorial service celebrating Ted’s life will be held at East County Senior Center, 276 Sky River Parkway, Monroe on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 1-4pm.
