David Troy Zimmerman, loving father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2021 at his home in Coupeville, Washington at the age of 58. He was diagnosed with Progressive MS in 2017.
David was born November 21st, 1962 in Garrison, ND to Duane and Joan (DeHaven) Zimmerman. He graduated from Garrison High School in 1981 and Wahpeton State School of Science in 1983. David worked for Burckhard Electric in Minot for a time and then went to work for Boeing on a project in Minot. He then transferred to Everett, Washington where he worked for Boeing as a Maintenance Electrician for 30 years and retired in 2018.
David loved his family. He was “Mr. Fix It”, he could fix anything and loved helping family and friends in that way. David was a quiet man with a great smile and you knew he loved you by his actions. He also loved the outdoors. David enjoyed diving, hiking the mountain trails with his furry friend, riding his bike, fishing and just being on the water. He also liked working in his yard planting fruit trees and tending to his pond and Koi fish.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Duane.

David is survived by his mom, Joan of Garrison; daughters, Chelsey (Keithan) Gregg, Portland, OR, Jenica (Chase) Norris, Kirkland, WA; grandson, Oliver Gregg; brother, Mike (Marcia) Zimmerman, Garrison, ND; sisters, Julie (Rick) Gienger, Garrison, Lori (Rod) Ahlsten, Eden Prairie, MN and many nieces, nephews, family and great friends.

A celebration of life will be held Summer 2021 in Garrison, ND.
